The Birthday Party

22 May 2025, from 6 pm onwards

This is the day Jean Tinguely would have turned 100, a date we would like to mark in style with a big party in Solitude Park outside Museum Tinguely, featuring a fine birthday menu and various performances. In the gregarious spirit of Tinguely himself, there will be ample opportunity to mingle and talk. Everyone’s invited to come celebrate with us!

The festivities will include the opening of Scream Machines – Art Ghost Train .

Programme: 
6.30 pm Welcome:
Dr Severin Schwan (Chairman of the Board of Directors, Roche Group), Beat Jans (Federal Councillor), Dr. Conradin Cramer (President of the Government of Basel-Stadt), Rebecca Moss (artist), Roland Wetzel (Director of Museum Tinguely)
The speeches will be translated into sign language. 
9 pm (approx.):
Cutting of the birthday cake

Also: Vélo Cocktail, Crêpe Automaat, Sorbélo, Vélo Vent, souvenir photos with photographer Pati, Merlin's Liquid Light, music by Los Boozan Dukes and DJ ieva.

As part of the celebration, the following guided tours through the collection presentation will take place:
